Healthy Banana Donuts with Caramel Sauce

Valentine’s Day may be over but that doesn’t mean you can’t still indulge your cravings for something sweet. These delicious and easy to make Healthy Banana Donuts with Caramel Sauce are just the perfect combination of sweet and salty.

Last week I had some ripe bananas left and I need to either use them or else I would need to through them away. We love banana bread on our home but I wanted to make something different. I love donuts because they are so easy to take everywhere plus Adrian my son loves them. They turned out quite delicious but I felt like they were missing something. So I made this healthy caramel sauce with Tahini and Dates.

The best part of this Healthy Caramel sauce is you only need 5 ingredients, which you probably have at home and it takes literally 5 minutes to prepare. By know, you should have realized how much I love quick and easy recipes. I don’t know you but even though I enjoy baking so much I don’ t have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen. If you are a mom you probably can relate to this right?

You can store the caramel sauce in your fridge up to a week. Make sure you try over fruits, ice cream or mix into a drink like your coffee! You’ll love it!

Healthy Banana Donuts with Caramel Suce

This Healthy Banana Donuts are easy to make, bake in the oven and drizzle with a delicious caramel sauce.

Servings 8 donuts

Ingredients
  

For the donuts:

  • 2 smashed bananas
  • 2 cups oatmeal flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 ts tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extrct
  • 3/4 cup almond milk

For the glaze

  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup dates
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tbsp. water

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F, and lightly coat your donut cups with coconut oil. 
    To prepare the donuts, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon in a medium bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together the coconut oil, vanilla extract, and vanilla extract. Stir in the mashed banana. Incorporate the wet ingredients into the dry and mix. 
    Pour your batter into the prepare donut pan and bake at 350°F for 12-15 minutes or until the tops are firm to the touch. 
    For the glaze blend all the ingredients together in a food processor. 
    Remove the donuts from the donut pan and drizzle with the caramel sauce.
